A local Newington manufacturing company has a temporary to permament opening on third
shift as a senior maintenance mechanic. The primary function of this position is to
ensure the correct operation of all mail machines either when making a repair or
directing a mechanic in the repair, as required.
1. Perform any and all setups and adjustments on all machines. Responsible for assuring
the best possible production counts mechanically.
2. Perform electrical troubleshooting and electrical repairs, as required.
3. Work with electronic technician on major electrical repairs.
4. Perform major mechanical troubleshooting, as required. Dismantle machinery and perform
repairs.
5. Conduct all major overhauling, as required. Modify or fabricate parts.
6. Provide assistance to lower-level mechanics during training and line work.
7. Maintain safety procedures.
8. Maintains tools and parts inventory procedures.
9. Assist in decisions regarding when and how to run certain formats when requested.
10. Comply with company rules and regulations.
11. Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
12. Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to
reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
13. Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the
achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
14. Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the
department and company.
Working hours: 11:30PM to 7:30AM
- Trade school plus 3-5 years of experience in machine repair or equivalent.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, such as:
- Standard and metric wrenches and sockets
- Screwdrivers
- Electric meter
- Lathe
- Milling Machine
- Calipers
- Saws
- Drills
- Electric sander/grinder
- Ability to comprehend parts/operator manuals
- Ability to create and/or read parts drawings
